POSITION OPENING
April 15, 2002

Planetarium Operator
Part-time Position Available Immediately
Will take applications until filled

Ever wanted to help give planetarium shows?  This is a fun and rewarding
position, but does require a great attitude, talent, and some hard work.
Our planetarium operators present our shows to the public; this is a
permanent part-time position.

Responsible for:
* setting up and performing planetarium shows
* troubleshooting for technical problems
* assisting in show production
* assisting with general planetarium maintenance

Pay: $9 /hour
Hours:  Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some flexible weekday hours and evening hours
Average hours per week: 14

Requirements:
* Familiar with (and enjoys) public speaking
* Comfortable working with computers
* Must have or currently be pursuing a college degree

All content and technical training will be provided, including information
about astronomy.  Planetarium operators also have the opportunity to learn
more about programming, animation, and show production.
