Hi Steve,
What's "book number three" about? Have you talked to Ken Graun of KenPress in
Tucson about publishing your book? He's the one that does the wonderful book on
the historical background of the Messier Objects.
Enjoy the OSP! That's one I'd like to get to one of these years. Were you able
to make it to the Table Mountain Star Party near Ellensberg, Washington since
you were up that way? I enjoyed all the big scopes and nice skies when I
attended it many years ago.
The weather in SoAZ has been breaking up on occasion for a few hours and we've
been having some beautifully dark and steady skies, though with a high amount
of humidity. When the skies do clear, the Milky Way has been spectacularly
contrasty. The Perseids seem to be ramping up already and we had an
ultraspectacular fireball last Monday night around 1am local AZ time that was
recorded by Tom Kaye on his all-sky camera.

Howdy all;
Tomorrow I am going to unhook the RV from power and water at the park
where I am parked and go into town to get the oil changed on the rig.
After that I will drive the 35 miles from Prineville to the Oregon Star
Party. I plan to take some images before the big crowd shows up for next
weekend. I just charged up the battery and cleaned the sensor in the
Canon XT.
I certainly hope you folks get a break in the Monsoons and can view so as
well. I do plan to be at Fredericksen Meadow for New Moon in Sept.
If I have email service at the site, I will let you all know how it is
going. If not, I will send an email once I am at my next stop,
Yellowstone National Park. I have a reservation with a place that has
Internet access.
I am getting to the end of writing my third book. I just need to make two
or three drawings and put together an index. Oh yea, I need a few images
from Chris, he is working on that. Then it will be time for a complete
read through and find a publisher. I might try self publishing, we will
see, I haven't done anything in that arena yet.
