My advice, from someone who has been doing it a scant 15 years, is don't do it.
Why? Extremely frustrating hobby with unlimited hardware and software problems
and you will not be able to control the expense. Quality equipment is key and
that means spending money.Â
Now, if you are still determined my advice is to start small with a used Canon
6D DSLR, a small scope and the best used mount you can buy. Buy USED and get in
for half the money. There is plenty of equipment used from prior enthusiasts or
retiring individuals. Below is a short "possibles" list. Also join an astronomy
club in your area. It's free advice and will save you spending a lot of money
on mistakes.
Camera: Canon 6D or Canon 60DÂ Mount: Astro Physics or ParamountTelescope:
Small Refractor 92 mm or 106 mmTripod: Astro Physics or ParamountAuto guider
camera: ZWO ASI120sGuide scope: ZWO 30mm F4 miniBattery: Jackery Portable Power
Supply
Do not try to save money on the mount! It is key to having some success. You
are going to spend several thousand dollars in a blink of an eye and that's
just the entry fee.
