I just looked at the map Tom linked to and the site I've referred to looks like it has the same "offroad motorized Dispersed camping access as FM. From the Google map imagery it does appear we can park within 300' of the road and still have room to set up. Looks like Dick H & will be planning a trip up there to recon after the mirror lab trip. If anyone else wishes to go with us, let me know. The limit for driving off of most Forest Service roads, including FSR #229, is 300 feet. They call this "off-road motorized dispersed camping." http://imageshack.us/a/img580/2848/hod8.jpg How far are we are driving from the centerline of FSR #229? This Google Earth image overlays four 300-foot bars, and shows where we set up. We have been driving about 100 feet beyond the limit. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/866/wazr.jpg -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
