NWS says forecast is clear for the weekend. How was it at Cherry Rd, didn't
see any reports. Vekol had pretty good seeing, but I sensed some amount of
dust in the air. The Phx lightdome was quite bothersome. No insects and temp
just right. 13th mag galaxies in Hydra, Canes, and Ursa M were picked out
easy enough at high altitudes. M66 in T. Polakis' Spooner-improved 20"
mirror showed its barred nature and surprisingly a right angle arm structure
coming off it sooo very faint on one side and very slight on the other in
moments of steadiness but couldn't hold it. Is this mirror coating-enhanced?
Earlier Jupiter showed a deathly pale 'red' spot nestled in the SEB. Gonna
do Cherry Rd again this weekend anyone? Love the high country.
