"Not Your Mother's Engineering"
Lt. Jg K'etrall

Boarding a new ship was always exciting, but this time it was a little more
nerve racking. It seemed that she was now going to be Acting Chief Engineer.
She didn't know what had happened, all she knew was now it was up to her to
keep the ship and all it's accessories running in top condition.

K'etrall walked into main engineering and was surprised at the size. It was
at least twice the size of the old Avalon's main engineering. Before she had
been able to just walk in, pick up her work order and go about her business
without anyone bothering her. Now, it appeared she was in charge, something she
wasn't all that used to. Yet, it the Admiral had faith in her, the least she
 could do was try.

Walking into her new office she looked around. It was a little larger than
the previous office. There was room for a desk, a couple of chairs to put in
front of it, some file cabinets for storage. She hoped the previous chief had
left his notes. She had a feeling she was going to need all the help she could
get. She wondered if there was any new engineering crew coming aboard or if
they were going to pick them up later.

The first thing she needed to do was familiarize herself with the specs. To
that end she sat at the desk and started reading PADD's. There was a whole
stack and at least half of another stack. Thinking to herself, "I'm going to
be
reading this stuff all night long, if not longer.

As she read, she began to realize that this was nothing like the old Avalon.
"Well, no time like the present to get started and figure out how this ship
really works. At least enough to manage a launch when the Admiral is ready."
