I've never really understood the attraction of these contractor mgt organisations. I mean, what do they really do? Surely they are just another middleman reducing what you get by 3-5%.
I've almost always either worked directly with the client (as a PAYG casual) or through an agency's payroll (PAYG again).
I was once given the option by an agency of using their payroll system, at a "fee" of 3% or using a mgt company. (I was ropeable because they did not advise me of this until after the rates had been negotiated, I basically had to accept a non-deductible 3% reduction in my rate).
Surely its just another way of moving a charge that has always been covered by the agency's margins onto the contractor, thereby just reducing the charge to the client (making that agency more competitive at the cost of the contractor).
I can understand if the client or the agency insisted on using a third party organisation (and was upfront about it and negotiated the rate in line with this!), but otherwise I don't see the attraction. Can someone enlighten me?

they provide is excellent for a very reasonable fee.  I recommend them as
well.

I'm about to go out into the contracting world again.
Last time I was contracting I did everything myself, e.g.
PAYG etc. But this time I am thinking of using a
contractor management company, e.g. entity solutions. I
have had a look through the archives but was wondering if
anyone had an recent experience with a company they can
recommend or any suggestions etc.
