Paul,

Stet is a fairly common editorial term meaning 'ignore the changes I =
have suggested here'. I don't know what Stet itself means though - many =
others will probably tell you.

Add it to your list of 'must-know mark up' terms.

Deborah :)

Subject: atw: The term: stet

Hi All,
Someone editing one of the user guides wrote: 'stet' in the margin to
indicate that I should ignore a set of mark ups. I've never seen this =
term
used anywhere. When I asked for clarification, he looked at me with
astonishment that I didn't know this term. He later qualified his =
remarks by
saying that he learned this expression in the banking industry.

It is probably an industry-specific term. But I thought I'd seek advice. =

Should I add this term to my list of 'must-know mark up' terms or ignore =
it
as idiosyncratic?

Cheers
