Have you tried a detect and repair? That works in many cases where a dll
or equivalent has decided to go out to lunch, which may be the problem
here...

My bet will be windows Update has "fixed" some problems for you. I have
had a few glitches recently with Patch Tuesday updates (I turned mine
off to determine what goes on and stays off for the time being) and had
to restore back and unload some updates about three weeks ago. That set
of updates trashed one of my laptops.

I note also that IE 8 is being foisted on everyone. I haven't and won't
go there until I have to, but what has been the experience for everyone
else?

Warren

Guys

Has anyone else had this problem. I open Outlook, it trots off and gets
my mail (either auto or manually), it downloads them all, but seems to
hang on the last email - which is actually delivered.

Then it goes on strike. It is hung and well retrieve no more emails.
So I close it, but it is not gone - when I look in Task Manager it is
still there. So I kill it in Task Manager, re-open and start again -
same process - ad infinitum. This means I have to kill it in Task
Manager every time I want to retrieve my email.

I had this problem 18 months ago when I first got my Windows Vista/2007
system, then at some stage it went away and now it is back.

Any ideas? I did have it set to minimise when I close it rather than go
away completely, but have since turned that "feature" off.

Regards

Christine
