No No No... never lay a complaint with the TIO until after you have left the
Proveder concerned.
Inform the CEO by registered mail that you do not wish your account further
debited ..and that you wish compensation...(say $5,000). ...but you must be
safely away before you do that.
The last rule I heard was that if your service was down for over 48 hours,
you then are entitled to a refund = to one month's fees for each further 24
hrs the service is down.
IE: if your service is down for 9 days, you are entitled to a rebate of 7
months fees.

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) is your
friend. Don't just threaten Telstra -- it will help -- but follow
through and lodge a complaint.
