Hi Sam S.

If you have not already done so, right click over the Word
tool bar area and activate the Forms tool bar. As I recall
this should give you everything you need to work with.

None of the form fields will work until you activate the
little padlock icon to lock the form.

Likewise, you will not be able to edit anything with it
locked.

Later versions of Word are quite stable with the forms
tool now but, if you are using Word 97 beware:
Locking and unlocking the form will flush the content
of all the form fields you fill in and the loss of data
cannot be undone.

HTH.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi All

I am stuck trying to figure out how to create a Word form that will launch
a series of prompt boxes that will ask the user to enter info (eg name,
occupation, address). My searches of Word help and Google are leading me to
think this has something to do with ASK fields but after fiddling with them
(and FILLIN fields) for the best part of an hour I have to declare defeat.
I know I am missing something really simple and obvious but that
Ahhhh-Slap-Forehead moment hasn't yet struck.

Could someone please point me to the right place in Word help (or
elsewhere) that will enlighten me?

Thanks in advance, Sam
