David, thanks for the steps. I actually thought you were talking about
setting a shortcut using system preferences and although you can set
shortcuts to menu items I don't think you can set them to specific
functions such as buttons. Love your idea and the keyboard shortcuts
in audacity are wonderfully flexible. On a laptop keyboard it's
function up and down arrows. I have a full sized keyboard or perhaps
the older mac keyboard that still has page up down home and end. What
happens is I can use page up and down to move in large incroments but
yes the arrows still get stuck or may move one or to percentages and
then get stuck. I'd really love to see that fixed.  Thanks.
