“analogue screening” is part of eXAF.org’s platform “analogue presence” – a joint project that examines the potential of analogue equipment in аn environment of modern artistic expression, under the compulsory condition of non-using any digital devices whilst generating and implementing the creative product.
“analogue screening vol. 01″ presented several solo performative acts (Trifon Tashev Dimiter Shopov and Valko Chobanov). for this purpose were used photo and movie films, multfilm- and screen-projectors, ladder, acoustic guitar, cassette recorder, kitchen grater, a jar of lime tea, pack of sausage, fiber, lots of duct tape …

the purpose of “analogue screening vol. 02″ is not to repeat the first steps, but rather to make a step forward in the development and implementation of the concept, so to include more expressive materials and interesting scenarios for each of the screenings.
!note: The term “screening” in this creative format is transcending its literal meaning, providing an opportunity for its multilayered interpretation.
eligibility: you can participate if you are an artist residing in the territory of the republic of bulgaria. send until 1 oct. at analogue@xxxxxxxx a short presentation of your project, including the baseline scenario of the idea and description of the means of expression, storyboard or visual material in the form of a sketch, photograph or short video.
the development of each project should be carried out using your own equipment. we can also provide technical equipment by request, so feel free to contact us if you need something special.
realization of the ideas has to be financially self-sustaining. a partial support from eXAF may be possible. our organization bears the transport costs during the project.
after the selection is made, on 10 oct will be announced the participants and the screenings in the cities of sofia and plovdiv will be conducted (later on for varna, stara zagora and veliko tarnovo).
the final implementation of the project consists of organizing separate public events (screenings), situated in different art spaces in the cities, mentioned above.
