application being loaded at Startup, either via !Boot, or being seen by

You'll probably find that *something* hasn't loaded, so whilst the problem
isn't serious, one app will have failed.
My solution would be to look at what you have running at startup, and be
selective about it.
It is generally *not* advisable to load everything at startup, and just
keep a bare minimum of essentials - you can use the Pinboard (etc) to load
things later. However, I know some folks swear by loading everything they
could possibly need at startup!
(And yes, I have seen people loading so many things that the iconbar needs
to be scrolled some considerable distance without *any* extra things being
loaded after startup!).
I guess it is a testimony to lightweight RISC OS apps that you *can* do
that, but I'd argue that just because you *can* doesn't mean that you
*should*!
