Is !FontFix regarded as 'safe' on an ARMX6?
Remind us of the source of Fontfix? And date?
Is it the utility that was subsumed into Richard Hallas's SpecialFX or
am I thinking of something else?
I believe so, yes.
I know quite a few people use SpecialFX quite happily on our machines,
although it did cause a problem at one stage when an OS change affected
one of the Artworks modules.
Basically, there's no real problem in using SpecialFX, so long as you
remember that you're replacing the OS routines with 3rd party ones which
are harder to maintain. Martin does a brilliant job, though, so I doubt
it would be a serious issue. Just be aware of it (and if reporting
problems, always try with SpecialFX turned off if the problem is to do
with graphics/fonts/printing).
That said, if using a TiMachine or other Titanium board, there's still no
!AWviewer with RGB-BGR colour swapping in, unless you pay for full
Artworks, so I wouldn't recommend SpecialFX on those systems.
