Graeme, Firefox 3.x (on Windows XP platform) is fine with XYZ LUT profiles
created by ProfileMaker,
ColorEyes, basICColor, ect. Indeed Argyll is the only one that
doesn't work.

Please send or point me to such an XYZ cLUT profile that doesn't have the
matrix profile elements in it, that Firefox works with.

[Argyll's XYZ cLUT profiles are identical to its L*a*b* cLUT profiles with
the exception of the PCS tag and the contents of the tables.]

Firefox does use cLUTs. Moreover Firefox uses the perceptual LUT (sic!) if
present.

Are you sure ? Does it (perhaps) just work with L*a*b* cLUT profiles ?

You can justify it with Monitor Rendering Intent/Tag test profile, that is
available at
http://www.colorkeeper.com/?page_id=235

That profile has both XYZ cLUT and matrix tags, so it doesn't prove anything
(ie. Firefox may be using the matrix tags).
