Graeme, Firefox 3.x (on Windows XP platform) is fine with XYZ LUT profiles
created by ProfileMaker, ColorEyes, basICColor, ect. Indeed Argyll is the only
one that
doesn't work.
Firefox does use cLUTs. Moreover Firefox uses the perceptual LUT (sic!) if
present.
You can justify it with Monitor Rendering Intent/Tag test profile, that is
available at http://www.colorkeeper.com/?page_id=235
By the way, I've tested some applications with this test profile on Windows XP.
The following applications use the perceptual rendering intent (if present):
Adobe Lightroom, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Canon ZoomBrowser EX.
The following applications use the colorimetric rendering intent:
Adobe Photoshop, Canon DPP.
