Colorants of a printer are orthogonal to the color model used to
create a profile. I'd suggest using an RGB model for your first

BTW, "RGB/CMYK device/printer" at above mentioned docs is meant to be
"RGB/CMYK [color model] device/printer". So if a driver allows you to
choose one, then your hardware printer may be [represented as] both RGB
and CMYK color mode device. Use RGB color model if you don't know *why*
you should use CMYK color model.
