Roger,
Is that the same as the DTP22? Also, I can't see how you accurately
position the unit on a small colour patch...is this what this unit is
primarily aimed at doing, or more like holding on to something like a
paint swatch?
Failing that, what would you get for around $400, and would it still be
a patch by patch affair at that price, or is some strip reading possible...
Finally, can you make display measurements with these as well? I have a
Spyder 2, but I'm somewhat stuck with their software which I don't
completely trust.
I agree that having gone into this as far as I have, I do need
something! :-)
Cheers...

There are loads of X-Rite DigitalSwatchbook that you can probably get under
$200 if you keep an eye out. I¹d stay clear of anything else at that price
level. But it's true you'll find the occasional CMS ColorMouse that, in all
fairness, even if you get for under $100, should do you better than using
your scanner as a colorimeter. To me, if you are serious enough for using
argyll like you seem to be using, you are more than mature for using a
spectro of some kind.
