This the latest status from Gene. There were photos attached to his original
but “Freelist” would not let me send them as an attachments. File exceeded the
size allowable.

Hi Troops,
Well two days of sunlight sure allowed a lot to get done. Was able to get a lot
of work done since Brigid and husband came over to help. Have only two more
rooms, found severe black fungus type mold in ceilings so we had to take one
entire wall down. Started taking survey of furniture, was contacted by adjuster
who has arrived in Houston area. Carfmen had to work at hospital so she is
doing double duty at hospital and home cleanup. People are tired and getting
ornery, lots of traffic now, and with damaged cars, debris from flood, people
putting stuff in streets there is only a single lane for cars. Hojse doors
have swollen so far that garage and rear entrance cannot be closed and locked.
Family holding up well... at the end of each days work at house, we sit on the
truck tailgates and have a few beers...this way we get to meet and share
stories with each other. Lucy and David returned fromv visiting inlaws
house... much worse than ours water up to ceiling, lost all of his memorabilia.
NASA has offered to dry out all paper using vacujm chamber...
Drivers are very aggressive and with the open carry I am concerned that soon
someone will start shooting.
Rain expected next week and my concern now is that the debris piled in ditches
Mosquitoes are arriving soon so all are advised to use repellant, so will be
another challenge.
Overall statue of home, power is on, refrigerator and freezer seem to be
working, one AC upstairs working, water is not contaminated, all wood floors
gone. See pictures for example.
Cheers, Gene
