Just wanted to update you all on my big move. The 22-hour drive from San
Antonio to Goshen with my dad went as well as could be expected, although in
two days I think I spent as much on gas for the Uhaul as what I usually
spend for my little Metro in a year! We arrived in Goshen on Friday evening,
Aug. 8. It's hard to believe I've been here over two weeks already. I
started my new job at the Goshen Public Library on Aug. 13. The job is going
fairly well so far. There is a lot to learn, but I'm slowly becoming
familiar with the library procedures, etc. here, and am enjoying not having
to deal with the large, slow-moving bureaucracy of the San Antonio Public
Library system.
I'm living in the College Manor apartments off of College Avenue. The
apartment is a bit smaller than what I had in San Antonio, but surrounded by
lovely trees and adjacent to Greencroft so there are good sidewalks and
walking opportunities nearby. Since I moved we've been having some really
pleasant weather here, which has been a nice change from the scorching San
Antonio summer. We'll see how I feel about the weather here in a few months.
