Austin is a music haven. Did you know that there are also scores of talented filmmakers too? If you have ever lamented about the lack of Protestant Generation X artistic expression, look no further.

The Ragamuffin Film Festival, hosted by Hope Chapel, is a showcase for young Christian filmmakers nationwide. I was blown away by the quality and creativity of the works from previous years. Entries are solicited from across America.

WHAT: The 3rd Annual celebration of a new breed of Christian filmmaking.
URL: http://www.ragamuffinfilm.org/
WHEN: August 6, 7, 8 (Fri., Sat, Sun.)
WHERE: Alamo Drafthouse Downtown
Tickets: http://www.drafthouse.com/ *Strongly advised to book in advanced.

This ought to be lots of fun. Hope to see you there.

Cheers,
Wilson

ps: Wilson attends a Wednesday night small group via Hope Chapel. In Christian lingo: a bible study group.

About
The Third annual Ragamuffin Film Festival will premiere a wide variety of shorts-- including drama, comedy, documentary, and foreign films. Most of the films come from a new wave of young Christian filmmakers who wish to foster films that honestly represent the human experience in all its beauty and ugliness, its romance and despair, its silliness and gravity. The festival, organized by local independent filmmakers (including the makers of Butcher’s 15), purports to encourage Christians to produce good films, regardless of the religious content.
