Subject: Come to TX Parks & Wildlife Expo and Activist Training

Join us for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo and an Environment Texas Activist Training on October 6 and 7.

The Expo is a free annual outdoor experience where more than 30,000 Texans come together to kayak, rock climb, mountain bike, see and touch wildlife, fish, shoot, learn about recreation in the Great Outdoors and find the latest in gear and services. Most importantly, visitors can learn how they can help to conserve this precious resource.

During the Expo, Environment Texas will run a short training for folks who want to get more involved in the fight to protect our most valuable natural areas, from the Christmas Mountains to our state parks.

This is a very important time for the protection of our open spaces here in Texas. With the November bond election and the Christmas Mountains decision happening very shortly, we need to train activists from all over the state on how to write an effective letter-to-the- editor to your local newspaper, public speaking tips and how to recruit more activists in your home town.

WHEN: Oct. 6th-7th, 2007 (the activist training will take place on Sat, Oct. 6th from 2:00-3:30)

WHERE: Texas Parks and Wildlife Headquarters
       4200 Smith School Road
       Austin, TX 78744

Environment Texas' booth is 435C. Meet here for the training or just stop by and say hello!
