[amayausers] maintenance question

Hi,
I need help on my Amaya. I am having a lot of thread shredding and
breaking. And a lot of those little curlyque thread knots (don't know what
they are called) and I want to check the alignment. I got the needle number
and setting off the base of the machine. But don't remember how to go about
checking and setting the settings.
Any help would be appreciated.
