There are several XT machines that I have heard refered to as the "pre-p=
roduction XT's." These machines are red and white, in fact I have one= of
them. They are the Amaya XT prior to the color change. To my know= ledge,
the only difference is the color change frome red and white to black= and
silver, along with a change from a 2 year warranty to a 5 year l= imited
warranty period.=0D
Any Amaya machine with the XT designation, regardless of color, doe= s not
require the V rail to be oiled any longer. The V rail guide blocks ha= ve
been permanently impregnated with a special lubrication and additional l=
ubrication does nothing but gum up the works......=0D

If you originally oiled the upper V rail, then you should have a
Red/White Amaya.
Keep oiling it.
The XT Amaya does not require this oiling procedure.

Okay, I've got a question on maintenance on the upper v rail. It is
extremely confusing. I used to apply oil with a q-tip. Now it says #2:
clean
it, no oil, but the picture shows "oil here", followed by #5: color
change
to move the oil evenly on the upper v-rail. So what's the last word? Oil
or
not? Thanks!
