Last batch of hats I did the backs on (and it is the only batch so far!)
I took someone else's hint, maybe Herb's? and used the yellow  
speedclamp...and set the lettering on a slight arc to follow the cap  
back.
Worked slick-'hooping' so to speak was about 10 seconds per cap. You  
can use a grease pencil (I have them for graphic work-called Stabilo  
pencils) and mark a reference point on each side of the yellow frame  
to 'hit the mark' each time with the next hat.
I used scraps of other backing material that were wide enough to go  
across the frame and just slide the hat over them. Just an extra  
'hand' to hold the hat once it starts to sew.
With the auto tension, worked slick!
