My max for hats is 2.5" tall. Taller than that and there is nothing but
troubles. And it depends on the hat. The more lower profile it is, the
shorter the design has to be.
You are courting trouble with the hoop limits off especially when your design
goes over the lines. The limit toward the brim is just about the max it can go
safely. So be very careful.
