Assuming you are running an XT(s), I would do a "detect trimmer" function.
After that, I would send all of the functions home, after testing each one.
Refer to "help" if you need to, or give us more data & ask us more questions.
Afterthought- might want to check the tail-lenght on the bobbin- look under
"settings".
