Hello, Mama Kass has just posted in the Machines & Hardware forum of AmayaUsers Discussion Boards under the title of Dust/Lint in and around the hook Guard...machine running poorly. This thread is located at http://www.amayausers.com/discussion/showthread.php?5817-Dust-Lint-in-and-around-the-hook-Guard-machine-running-poorly Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** It sounds like an abrasion issue - a rough spot somewhere, like Rod says. I doubt it's your bobbins. Why would the problem occur only on one machine? I use Coats American Generic from American Embroidery Supply. For some reason they don't have the same waxy coating that non-generic Coats bobbins have and so do not leave any residue in the bobbin case. I also pull off the cardboard sides and they have worked for me just fine. I'm going to try the Hammer Bros. #8330 next time I order because they're a lot cheaper and Rod & Sharon have liked them. Also some of us have applications where sticky backing or spray adhesives are necessary; you just need to be diligent about doing hook washes to eliminate build-up in the bobbin area.
