This kind of leaves the field wide open. It may be something simple or it may
be much more serious in nature. I'll list a few of the possibilities:
Broken presser foot spring
Presser foot out of adjustment
The connecting rod from the cam disk to the reciprocator may have worn a
bearing and is causing "rod knock"
X axis cable tension out of adjustment
X carriage rails and X carriage roller bearings binding from lack of lubrication
There are lots of possibilities here....it may be time for one of those dreaded
tech calls....
