You are going to have to manually get the machine (close to) head-up position.
Push in the e-stop & reach up around the head and turn the z shaft by hand, if
it is hard to turn or you hear bad noises, I would stop & call my tech. If you
can get it close to head-up, then try to manually move the needle case to get a
needle over the presser foot hole. Now release the e-stop and see if you can
get a true head-up position.
