It is generally easier just to buy pre-wound bobbins from your thread/backing supplier. I have found that the time spent winding bobbins just isn't worth my time and ends up costing more than just buying one or two gross in a box. My last order was for 10 gross in bobbins (I get a price break for ordering 10 gross) which lasts more than a year for me. I keep about 10 bobbins on the machine with the scissors and extra bobbin case and put the rest on a shelf out of my way until I need them.
