MessageActually, you want a nylon mesh sometimes referred to as Poly-Mesh.
Some Poly-Mesh will fray but the nylon doesn't and is wonderful stuff. I use
it on many garments and have great results.

Yes there are cutaway backing just for light colored knits. Some terms are
polymesh. Call your backing supplier and they will let you know.

We're brand new to embroidery and will be embroidering on 50 white oxford
shirts from Port Authority and 50, K431 Cool Mesh Shirts. Would appreciate
backing suggestions particularly on the cool mesh shirts as they are white,
have a mesh weave and I wonder if cutaway will be too obtrusive to use.

      Thanks for your help.
