Cheryl,

 The post Herb gave about the capped ends is great=2E It is right on about=

the=20
underlays as well=2E A Double ZigZag at about a 12 to 14 density with an=20=

edgewalk to help cut the edges is the recipe=2E Density is set higher than=
=20
normal=2E The Lettering you are doing is going to need some editing to wid=
en=20
the letters and cap the ends, but it probably can be set up for Puffy Foam=
=2E=20
I wonder about the =2E5 inch, that is pretty small? There is a lady on thi=
s=20
list by the name of Janel Harris who may be able to help you=2E She is a=20=

digitizer and is much more familiar with the details than I am=2E I heard
from=20
her yesterday and she is on a road trip right now so I am not sure if she
is=20
doing email or not? Janel's Email address is janel@dimdesigns=2Ecom=2E Per=
haps=20
she can give some suggestions as well=2E

The trick to getting rid of the little stick out pieces is to use a Heat=20=

Gun=2E They can be purchased at a Hobby Store=2E The "heat gun" gets hotte=
r
than=20
a normal hair dryer=2E When you heat it (after tearing off the excess), th=
e=20
little goobers or pieces sticking out shrink into the stitches of the=20
thread=2E Do not over heat, you can scorch the thread or the fabric=2E Als=
o,
try=20
to get Foam that is as close to the color of the thread you are using as=20=

possible=2E Using a black foam with black thread does not show as bad as
black=20
foam with white thread=2E

 In any case, it can be a challenge=2E

I need some help with 3D Foam application on Visors=2E Visor is 2 inches
tall and has a Brody Script one line design measuring =BD inch tall=2E I
have been playing with density and fabric thickness but I still see
little tiny raggedy pieces of foam showing on the outside of the column
stitches=2E I am using underlay; edge walk and a center walk to tack down
the foam=2E What density do you suggest for both the column and the
underlay? Any other suggestions??? I am a brand new embroiderer (since
