Dear all,
I have been very passive but I am now reading Kathy Gibsons book Taking back
the economy after her wonderful presentation, so if there is something to be
added to the paper based on the book, I am willing to write about it. But what
is the link to the basic material we already have, bullet points etc.???

I propose we make a meeting in late August and sit and read what we have
together and brush it up so we can find some conclusions and publish the paper.

Ah sorry,
So when I speak of my own filling in to the white paper, I will be doing so
also based on our discussion series.
And ofcourse our aim is to come to something which is easy and clear enough for
anyone reading to feel the issues written about are issues also for them to be
engaged in, and to be at large a demistifying, and empowering tool.

Dear all,
A very long over due thank you also on this list from my part to Pekka for the
work done! - we did in the meantime see by the side of our sons football field,
so I am glad as to say the thank you arrived at least some time earlier to Pekka
As we have been discussing earlier, all of us who want to be involved with the
writing, can now be with on the filling in in the white paper in the area of
the paper you would like to contribute to.
I practical terms, we can leave Pekka's bullet points under each heading, and
write ourselves under them so we can keep track of that framing.
When some more progress has been made, we can invite first of all all
contributors to the discussion series to comment, "check their parts" in sofar
as they have not yet done; and beyond them there are yet some other people
whcih have in mind that could be good to ask for comments.
And we check collectively on our collective progress!
From the white paper then, aim is to come to a shorter manifesto
I forinstance feel myself more competent to be able to contribute on that
level, but will all the same first feed into the white paper and then we see
from there for the manifesto. Feels like a good opportunity to learn more!
Do send me your request to be part of the co-writing so I can give you editing
rights!
Some of you spoke of wanting to write together.
Woudl there be any proposal for a next date to meet? Pedro?
I myself will defenitely try to join any physical meeting, but also intent to
work in drive whenever have a moment.
For today I will be here listening to Katherine Gibson :

and then later in the day a workshop with her,
Also, Aikapankki is working towards next seminar in relation to taxation issue

Pekka was last year also with in a similar exercise, going out there again!
In case any of you interested to come there, welcome!

There is now a Google Docs outline for a "White paper". I transferred the
ownership to you Ruby so that you can freely add new editors (and throw me out
if you are unhappy with that I do. :-)

Anyone can make comments on it. Currently only Ruby and I can edit it, as I
didn't know the Google account for anyone else.
I'm afraid the outline may still be too lofty to be a starting point for a
manifesto.
Well, I presume I may be too much an academic to really be able to write a
manifesto anyway. Therefore it may be better (at least for me) to first write
a white paper and then condense a manifesto out of that, leaving "unessential"
discussion and argumentation away. Anyway, a white paper should be easy to
understand, too, even though addressed to a different audience.
Mostly I think we (or I) can make the argumentation relatively solid, but I'm
afraid at least I am not able to complete the section about demontisation and
communisation, as they go beyond my current understanding.
Personally I tend to believe in Graeber's distinction between "proto-communism"
in the small and under exceptional circumstances and selfishness towards
strangers under most other situations. As the "capitalist" in my ego is
reluctant to directly give to every beggar and instead wants to change the
system (which is why I'm here in the first place), I have quite a hard time
believing in communism beyond Dunbar's number.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number
But I digress.
My plan is to next start adding there some references, and maybe write some
text for Appendix A.
