Hi Scott: I go into my documents and move to the file that is zipped. I've tried opening the file by hitting enter followed by alt and get told that the file is invalid or corrupt. Also, I've tried going into the file menu before opening the file. I arrow down to open sub-menu. A menu comes up and I hit enter on compressed/zipped folder. I hit enter on that but then I get the message that the file is either invalid or corrupt. Is it that I don't have the software to open it? When you find the zipped document in the My Documents folder, are you pressing enter and getting the error message? Or, are you going into the file menu and choosing another option? If you are pressing enter on the filename and receiving an error, it could be that you don't have a program to unzip the files, or that the file is truly corrupt and unusable. If however, you are accessing the file menu, can you specify which option you are selecting from the file menu? Open the message which contains the attachment. 2. Press alt f to open the file menu. 3. Arrow down to "Save attachments" and hit enter. 4. Your screen reader will read the name of the file. Be sure you know at least part of the filename as this will make finding it much easier later. 5. Tab once. You will be in an edit box which will show the location where the file will be saved. It should be My Documents. Even if this is not where you want the file to be saved, I recommend saving it here first. It's easy enough to move it later. 6. Tab until you reach the save button and press enter. 7. Now, go to the My Documents folder, assuming that is where you saved the file. 8. Find the file and press enter. You will now be in a subfolder, or in this case, a zipped folder, containing the file or files that were zipped. 9. Press alt f to open the file menu. 10. The first option in the menu will be unzip. 11. Press enter and follow the steps to unzip the files. I admit that I don't know everything about working with computers. I have received a zipped file as an attachment that I need to unzip. Can anyone offer the commands for unzipping it? I have saved it as a Microsoft Word document. Thank you! Sandy
