I see no setting to change the movement unit. Allegedly, according to Freedom Scientific, it was changing the Openbook interface to standardize it with other programs such as JaWS. Then that's what they should have done. Left and right arrow should move by character, control left and right arrow should move by word, etc. It appears they didn't do so. Now, what appears to exist is a ridiculous mixture of the JAWS interface and the old Openboook interface. If you want to spell the current word, you can execute the JAWS command in OPenbook, that is numpad insert numpad 5 pressed quickly twice. You can then move to the next word with numpad insert numpad 6 and spell it, etc. Or you can simply change to edit mode. the command is very fast and simple, control e. It's a toggle so switching back to read only mode is just as simple and fast. I expect you know that command but I'm including it to avoid unnecessary messages from those following the thread who may not know it. Is there a way when in reading mode to be able to look at the document a letter at a time instead of a word at a time? I know I should know how to do this and I can do it in edit mode, but not in read only mode. Thank you. Sherri Character is the side of yourself you choose to show the world.
