Hi Barry/Mark,
My name is Jim Doherty and I'm the coordinator for React talking signs in
York. To answer a couple of your questions, we have approx 42 talking react
signs throughout the city centre of York. The initial cost of the network
was purchased by the York City Council. The lottery fund paid for the rest,
I.e. project manager and key fobs. The key fobs are free to York residents
who have a visual impairment. The fobs are distributed by the York Blind and
Partially Sighted Society. They are also available from the York tourist
information centre for those who are visually impaired, with a deposit.
