i can see both sides but it's a lot of money to pay out. i can hear steve's
voice in my ear saying the android version it runs on will cause problems. it's
so out of date most apps very soon will not run on it. i really wonder why a
much newer version cannot be used. if it's cost then that's very very poor my
mate paul brookes has had to send his touch back this morning because it has
frozen and ian you are correct the sighted public just would not stand for this
kind of thing. i am so lucky i have my u 2 as a back up. i will give it
another try tomorrow but i have cleared everything out of the bluetooth
settings and tried again with no joy. i hope others on the list who use this
device have more luck than me.

I agree that there may be questions about the order in which we are supposed
to do things, but I think these procedures should be clearly set out in
either the release notes or in manuals which accompany the apps. This update
has arrived two months later than it was trailed, was said to sort out a
number of things and add others such as KNFB and iPhone connectivity. I
firmly believe that mainstream product buyers would not tolerate this level
of customer service.

Hi John
I have tried without success to pair. I don't even see it on my phone to
pair with! I am obviously doing something wrong, or in the wrong sequence,
but I will contact the guys tomorrow as well to find out what steps I can
take to pair correctly.
The Reader doesn't work for me. I have documents to try that work with my
iPhone, but not on the Touch at all. In fact, a few times, it has crashed
and brought up the usual choices of Wait, Report or Close. I find this on
so many apps to be honest that it isn't a viable tablet for so many things.
I like the KeySoft applications, the Braille display, and Email. But
Twitter, Facebook and other stuff is so sluggish that it crashes. I'm
trying to be positive, but I'm also very concerned! I know it is early days
in this update, and I am prepared to accept I may be doing something with
pairing in the wrong order. But it is testing my patience, there is no
doubt about that.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

0was hi jackie well whatever i do will not work i just wonder which version
ian and terry have on their i devices. so just to confirm i did go in to the
quick settings and it said bluetooth off even though when you go in braille
terminal it should switch it on. then from the braille terminal i select
bluetooth then on the iphone vsettings general voice over braille then it
sees the braille note touch as brailliant so i hit the pair button on the
iphone and it asks on the touch if the code equals the same press pair so i
do that and whatever i do it just will not connect at all so i will have to
become a tester for humanware i think.
0was
0was as ian says though with the third party apps it keeps saying web view.
0was
0was now with the knfb reader you must get the camera just right that's the
distance between the touch and the print that you're scanning. it works a
treat for me.
0was
0was so if i use my tablet it should work as a braille display as well should
it not.
0was
0was anyway i will not clog the list up with braille note touch difficulties.
0was
0was just to say though it's rather anoying after all the waiting for an
update to find the most important thing will not work for me. will have a try
tomorrow. still recovering after my big draw in my chess last saturday. i
will ring humanware tomorrow just in case i've missed something.

I just can't get it to pair, it surely can't be that difficult? I ensure
Bluetooth is on, choose Bluetooth in Braille Terminal, and then go to
Braille on my iPhone. But searching is dimmed, and there is no sign of
it. And I don't get anything out of K-NFB reader either, not a scratch.
Yet my phone version works fine. Very strange!
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Ditto on the iPhone connection and haven't yet tried the KNFB. Keeping
that treat for the morning. I'm increasingly disillusioned with this
product which keeps promising so much but delivers so little.
