hi guys, I've never done this before, but could someone please tell me

can rip music tracks from a purchased CD album from the high street, and

my HDD, so I can burn a copy for my daughter?.
I have tried just copying/pasting to my HDD, and then trying to burn
them to
disk, but it didn't work, the tracks I copied wouldn't even play in
winamp
or windows media player.
Please someone advise or help indeed,
