Possibly not Iain, but you know Ian well enough to realise that he would just
have to take it apart (smile). He just couldn't resist it.

When you say it has blown up Simon, what do you mean? Has the power just
stopped, or did it make some sort of noise and cause a smell or something? It
could just be that it needs a new fuse. Anyway, I hope you get it sorted and
your book back.

He may not have to resort to such drastic measures.

Simon, strip it, that would be Ian's solution trust me (smile).

He would have every screw and component lined up in a neat order on the
carpet, kneeling down in a corner as he did it. Then he would come through to
me and say: "Here you go, that's your talking book." Then he would kneel again
and put it all back together. I must say I've always marvelled at his ability
to do that sort of work without sighted assistance.

Go for it. If it's blown up, you've nothing to lose anyway (smile).

    Good luck.

      hello list,
does anyone know, if there is a way of getting a talking book out of a
dead talking book machine?
mine seems to have blown up, and it just had to have a book I really
wanted to listen to in it, but because the eject is powered, it won't work, and
I can't get the book out in the normal way.
