Oops - cheers darren - heavy handed typing - what I thought was so
clever about this site is that it takes all the work out of web
navigation especially form filling because you don't have to do any of
that, you just build your own web address, you start with
http://traintimes.org.uk/ then put your starting point follow by slash,
then your destination followed by slash and that's it you are taken
straight to a result page for those options - or you can add times and
dates to narrow the results down.

No need to learn about forms mode or any of that which is a big
advantage for many.

If you check to see what the address bar says, you'll find Adrian has
accidentally popped an extra k in at the end of the URL.

Sometimes when following links people have given in e-mails etc, and
they don't work, a simple check like this may pay dividends!

|| Hi all:
|| absolutely blown away by this chuffingly fantastic train times
website
|| I've jsut discovered which lets you find train times by including
your
|| start point, destination, departure time and date in the web address.
||
|| the basic start address (note there are no w's) is
|| http://traintimes.org.ukk so for example to do the search i just did
for
|| trains from coventry to birmingham next tuesday morning at 9.30 i
used
|| the url http://traintimes.org.uk/coventry/birmingham/09:30/2007-02-27
||
|| a few things to note - the seperater for time is : (colon)not . (dot)
|| and you must state dates in reverse order eg year, month, date, using
-
|| (dash) as the seperater.
||
|| results are displayed in a table and you will need your table reading
|| commands to make best use of the information which puts the price
first.
|| having such easy access to ticket prices is a first in itself.
||
|| Enjoy
