HI John.
Yes at the moment I use an IPHone with a focus 14 for note taking and using
american grade two braille in the main I have no speed issues at all. OK when
you hit the space bar there is a slight delay in the word being translated,
but, in reality, your not looking at each word as you type it so its not a show
stopper.
All that said, its likely my employment situation is going to change soon and I
may need to relook at my portable information needs, in terms of a very light
weight laptop with 40 cell display or something that is Braille orientated and
specialist but that ticks all the mainstream boxes, trouble is, I don’t think
that product exists at the moment.

hi all
futher to my last on braille one difficulty with the android set-up with
braille is that you have to change the keyboard to the hardware keyboard. now
of course with the el-braille or touch this will not happen and of course you
will have grade 2 braille i think.
the ease of use with a stand alone is massive. though it can be done the
cheap way it is very very fiddley to do.
strange though i do find with the iphone my braille is very fast unlike
jackie. i do use the american computer braille though so when i enter a
number for number six i press lower f.
