Hi Adrian.

Virtual memory is a page file on the hard drive which the operating system treats as RAM, storing non essential operating data in for quick recall. I suggest using the Crucial scanner at www.crucial.com/uk to see which type of memory your machine takes, you can buy it directly from them and they back their memory with a lifetime guarantee and compatibility assurance pledge.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] a memory question

Hi

Just a quick question, I am looking for new or extra ram for
my friend's laptop, it is an hp g62 notebook, it says it has
nearly 8 gb of virtual memory, does this mean it has 2 lots
of 4 gb ram or just one 4 gb and gets the rest somewhere
else, I don't quite understand how this works. Many thanks.

Regards

Adrien
