Yes, Peter, think I see where you are with this. Maybe the quickest way out
would be to take Malcolm up on his offer to convert them.

Thanks Ray
There are some complications which I can't get round using any Word
conversion facility.
I have an old Office 2000 CD. Since installation I have downloaded the
Service pack releases. When I try to add the converters Word will not accept
them from the dis but looks for the service pack which I don't have on the
computer. I have tried downloading the Office conversion pack from the web
and although this appears to have installed successfully I still get a
message telling me to install the converters from Word when I try to open
the files.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Peter

Peter, I am pretty sure Word 2k will load WordPerfect 5.1 files and
WP6, and these are mentioned in the help file.
Certainly, my version of Word 2K will save to WordPerfect 5.
I'm never very good on the details of these things, but these files
should be on the Office 2k instalation discs. Seems they can also be added
via the add/remove Office instalation program, . I'd certainly take a good
look at the Word 2K help.

I'll keep this address and I note your recommendation that this
program does a good job. I have looked at the web site and since this is a
one off I wonder if there is any free software that would do a reasonable
conversion.

Try WordPort it is completely accessible and does the best
conversion I have seen between word-processing formats.

Subject: [access-uk] WordPerfect5
Hello
I have been sent some WordPerfect 5 files which I am not able to
open in Word 2000. I do have all the Office converters installed and so it
does not seem that Word will convert them.
Does anybody know of an accessible program which will convert from
WordPerfect to Word 2000 please.
Many thanks
Peter Bentley
