just a quick question on drive replacement?

What is the max size I can replace my unit for?

This question was covered some time ago but I can't remember the answer given.

Look forward to your reply Mo on this one.

Hi Andy.

Yes, the machine will probably determine the sound quality. To be
honest, i've found the sound to be excellent thus far, it depends on how
much of an audio purist you are. personally i think its very good. I
doubt very much that your kit will degrade the sound quality. That was
the hole point of HDMI, high defenition multi-media interface for
5.1/7.1 surround sound setups.

all the best,

Mo.

Hi Mo -
I have a sighted partner, so it's not just about getting the sound
right for me.
My TV and sound Bar are Panasonic, and the first bit of kit on the set
up will be the TVonics [when I get it.]
Do you think there is much likelihood in the sound being compromised
from these 3 pieces being connected to each other? Do you know, or
anybody else on list able to say what the sound quality is like from
the TVonics?
Thinking about it a bit, isn't it always the case when a piece of kit,
such as ann. old VHS, or now DVDR or PVR machine is the first item
connected to the input source [aerial] that that machine will
determine the sound quality? -

    Hi Andy.

Yep that sounds about right. The more devices you have between
HDMI sources the more processing goes on. There are different
versions of HDMI, it may be that your devices have different
versions/varients depending on how old they are. Also, the cables
can make a difference. The tvonics has an SPDIF socket on the
back, why not connect directly to your amp or whatever if sound's
your main concern? And to clarify, yes sound is obviously bought
in to the unit via your aerial in the first instance.

    cheers,

    Mo.

    Hi all -
If I have a set up that starts with the aerial going in to the
TVonics, and then from there, an HDMI cable going to my TV, and
then an HDMI from the ARC socket on the TV going to my sound bar,
then which machine is controlling the sound quality?
What I mean, if the first bit of kit in the set up processes
sound poorly, then no matter how good the last bit is, the sound
quality will have been compromised. Is that correct?
Basically, when the aerial bring the signal in to the TVonics, is
it processed there, before passing to the TV, processed again
there, and then passed to my sound bar's amp, and processed again? -
