Hi Andy & George, I have found with Vista that when downloading what ever it will automatically save in to your download folder, which you will find under your name on the desktop.

Hi George - this is how it always was in XP, but my first encounter with
downloading software in Vista, appears not to include the 'save' option,
just run and cancel, but I'll look again later and see -

| Hi Andy,
|
| You will have to look closer at each dialog.
|
| First, Run will download the file to a temporary folder, let
| you install the software, and then delete the downloaded
| file. Save will allow you to store a copy permanently.
|
| When you click Save, a dialog will come up with focus on the
| name of the file. You will need to tab around this dialog
| until you get to the Drive and Folder field where you can
| then select the folder you wish to store the file in.
|
| George.

| Subject: [access-uk] Vista and downloading
|
| Hi all -
|
| Anybody tell me where Vista puts downloaded software from
| the internet? In
| XP, there is a 'save in' box, but the choices in Vista seem
| to be to run or
| cancel a download; it appears that run is the same as save,
| but it doesn't
| seem to offer a choice of where to save. From what I have
| seen so far, it
| chooses to save in the temporary folder, and I can't even
| find that under
| Vista!
|
| Help please <smile> -
|
| Andy
