Hi Derek Ah, the lovely Matt! (big smile). I don't know what make my USB to serial adapter is, but it does work on Vista, apart from a shutting down problem. What happens is that the computer shuts down, but not properly. It seems to go into a restart, then Windows doesn't behave correctly when it loads up. I can't really fathom out what goes on, except that if I unload JAWS before shutting it down when the USB to serial adapter is attached, it closes everything down perfectly and as it should. Since I don't really use it on my laptop though, I don't worry about it. And if I need to in the future, I'll just unload JAWS before I close it down. Other than that Derek, it works ok for me mate. He did manage it after many phone calls, and having to change the cable for a different make. So although I agree it does work, it's not as straightforward as it should be.
