VGA is the kind of rectangular socket on your laptop you used to plug
a monitor in.
HDMI is the output you require for your new monitor or television (I
guess?) which presumably doesn't have a VGA input (some do, though).
An adaptor is something that adapts on thing to another.
Hence a VGA to HDMI adaptor provides an HDMI output from the VGA socket.

Was that what you meant?

hi Jonathan, this sounds like a good Idea. As I know almost nothing about
this. Could you please tell us how this Adaptor would work?, Billy

I think a better and cheaper, compatible and reliable option would be a VGA
to HDMI adaptor.
How does 6 quid including postage sound?

BTW, Windows 8.1 doesn't have to be touchscreen.

hi guys, Is there such a beast?.
My wife has an Acer Netbook1, it is running xp.
The Netbook has no HDMI socket, and she would like to have this function
on the Netbook.
Before she goes and purchases a new Netbook.
I'm wondering if there is some kinda adaptor to allow maybe one of her USB
Ports to converted into an HDMI Port?.

She really loves her Netbook, and would be sad if she had to retire it,
and purchase new, smiles.
She really doesn't like the thought of having to buy new Netbook, and
having to get a touch screen Windows8/8.1 Machine.
