Andy:

Insofar as British insurers are concerned, many years ago the BIBA (British
Insurance Brokers Association) declared that blindness is concerned as
normal risk.

It may be an idea to check it with the R N I B legal department as insurance
law is always changing.

Certainly in my instance, my business, personal and travel insurance imposes
neither surcharge nor additional premium for visual impairment even though
it is disclosed - that may be the rub!
